CME Group has scheduled the introduction of Bitcoin Cash and Uniswap futures for October 19, subject to regulatory review. The exchange first disclosed the expansion on September 22, according to the announcement.
Standard and micro contracts are planned for both assets. CME lists standard Bitcoin Cash contracts of 250 BCH and micro contracts of 25 BCH. For Uniswap, the respective sizes are 10,000 UNI and 1,000 UNI. The contracts are designed to let market participants manage price exposure without arranging custody of the underlying tokens.
CME says the planned additions respond to customer demand for risk-management tools. The exchange's crypto product range already extends beyond Bitcoin and Ether, and the new contracts continue that approach. Uniswap's token sits in the decentralized-finance sector.
The remaining detail to watch is the exchange's confirmation of regulatory clearance and live trading; a published target date is not the same as confirmation that every contract has begun trading.
