The final bridge of the World Trade Centre Roundabout Development Project is scheduled to open on Friday, October 30. The 1,000-metre, two-lane bridge connects Al Majlis Street in Zabeel towards 2nd December Street in the Al Jafiliya area. It can accommodate approximately 3,000 vehicles per hour and cuts travel time on that route from six minutes to one minute.

The project involved the construction of five bridges at the intersection with a combined length of 5,000 metres, at a cost of more than AED 696 million. These include a 1,000-metre, two-lane bridge connecting Sheikh Zayed Road to Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Street towards Deira, with a capacity of 3,000 vehicles per hour. Two bridges connect Sheikh Rashid Street with 2nd December Street, offering two lanes in each direction over a combined length of 2,000 metres, with a total capacity of 6,000 vehicles per hour. Two further bridges connect Al Majlis Street with 2nd December Street, also providing two lanes in each direction over a combined length of 2,000 metres, with a total capacity of 6,000 vehicles per hour.

According to the source material, the improvements around the intersection will benefit more than half a million residents and tourists and reduce the average wait at the Sheikh Zayed Road intersection from 12 minutes to 90 seconds. The project is also linked to a separate development around Al Mustaqbal Street in DIFC, scheduled for completion in 2027, where bridges, tunnels and road expansion are expected to cut travel time from 13 minutes to six minutes.
