European Central Bank president Christine Lagarde stressed the importance of sound public finances on Saturday when she addressed ministers in charge of budgets from around the world in Thailand, according to Bloomberg.
In her statement to the International Monetary and Financial Committee, which comprises global finance ministers and central bankers, Lagarde said fiscal sustainability remains a “crucial anchor” for broader economic stability.
