A Tianjin court has accepted a bid to forfeit 61,896 BTC, valued at nearly $5.1 billion, according to reporting citing the case. The Bitcoin at issue was seized by the United Kingdom in what is described as the Qian case, and the assets are now caught in a legal dispute between China and Britain.
The Tianjin court has opened a six-month notice period over the assets, while proceedings in London continue.
