South Korea is weighing a revenue-based education tax for cryptocurrency exchanges, with estimates suggesting Dunamu could face an annual charge of 10.2 billion won and Bithumb a projected bill of 3.2 billion won.
The projected charges are tied to the possibility that exchanges are reclassified as financial companies. Under that reclassification, the exchanges would fall under the revenue-based education tax.
