Evidence of banks restricting services for crypto asset users continues to accumulate on both sides of the Atlantic, according to a new report that highlights the difficulties U.K. customers have faced with specific banks. The report indicates that Lloyds and Barclays are the banks most frequently named in complaints from cryptocurrency users.
Earlier this year, Stand With Crypto in the UK (SWC), a British crypto asset lobby group, provided bitcoin and other cryptocurrency users with a tool to report their experiences with financial institutions. The new report draws on these user complaints to identify the banks involved.
The report does not provide further details on the nature of the restrictions or the number of complaints received.
